"SUBMIT helped me get all the words I needed on the page (10,000+) for a book chapter in just two weeks...I'm absolutely positive I wouldn't have been able to make that kind of progress in that short a time. Writing in *this* community is powerful."
Sabriya Fisher, PhD
Assistant Professor, Wellesley College

Overcome avoidance, release perfectionism, and quiet your pesky inner critic with real-time accountability and coaching during each session.
And all you need to do is show up for 2 weeks in May.

Okay, okay, you do need to do pre- and post-session exercises. But they only take 10 minutes. Pinky swear.
"I began the program with a half-written essay draft and left it with a full draft including citations. I feel relieved and am able to carve out some rest and relaxation during my summer break because of the work I put in during SUBMIT."

"I started a project in Focus Fridays, and SUBMIT got me across the finish line. The 30 minutes before our writing sessions involved research informed, practical advice from Roxanne that forced me to rethink patterns of behavior that got me stuck in a rut. I highly recommend Focus Fridays and SUBMIT for those who want a breakthrough."
Evelyn Simien, PhD
Professor, Univeristy of Connecticut
Licensed Psychologist. Faculty Coach. Full Professor.
I've coached hundreds of faculty in the last 10+ years toward writing success. These experiences, along with my own, have taught me one thing about summer writing...
It's immensely hard - hard to start, hard to maintain, hard to find space for among travel, caregiving, and other demands like summer teaching and administrative work.
All this adds tons and tons of stress to what should be a replenishing time. Not good!
That's why I've created a better summer experience for faculty - one where you're able to get your writing done upfront, so you can have the long, leisurely break your mind, body, and spirit desperately need.
Daily writing sessions: Weekdays 12:00 to 2:30 pm ET, starting May 15
Bonus retreat: 12:00 to 2:30 pm ET, Friday, May 12
A summer of writing wins and rest is within your reach with SUBMIT.
"The best thing about SUBMIT is not just the time and strategies to sit down and write, it's that the program reframes writing in a way that also makes it feel good to write."
Natalie Tronson, PhD
Associate Professor, University of Michigan

Correction: In the video I said SUBMIT is in the first 2 weeks of May. It's actually May 12 to May 26.
I’m so confident SUBMIT will work for you that I back up your investment with a 7-day unconditional money back guarantee.
It works like this - if you're not 100% satisfied with your results after the first week of the program, email me for a full refund. No questions asked.
That gives you a 7-day no risk period to check out the program, experience the retreat + sessions, and connect with the community.
"The community is caring, generous, and super smart. I'm so grateful to be a part of this!"

Associate Professor, Simon Fraser University
I see you. And I understand the need for spaces where you can show up just as you are.
WellAcademic is that space. As with our other programs (e.g., Focus Fridays, Makeover, and Well-Prepared), Women of color faculty make up a large proportion of our SUBMIT community.
Also, I'm a woman of color (Black, Asian, & White) whose work centers positionality, power, and privilege, which is evident in my coaching and scholarship.
SUBMIT is most applicable to faculty and post-docs.
That said, others who think they would benefit from the program are welcome.
Absolutely! I know it's counterintuitive, but intense focus for short bursts with breaks in between - how SUBMIT is set up - results in greater progress than long stretches of distracted work.
Plus, writing daily builds momentum, which means you start quicker and finish faster compared to working the same hours over a longer time period.
SUBMIT also has other factors shown to improve motivation and performance such as accountability, coaching, a fun atmosphere, and social support.
No. But I hear you. I'm a closet introvert, so I would never set something up that's awkward for folx like you and me.
That's why the check-ins are short, about 5 minutes, with just 3-4 participants. I also provide EXACTLY what you need to share.
This means there's no time to get nervous and no one is searching for conversation fillers. Phew!
No. What makes SUBMIT special is that it's live. You can't replicate the real-time accountability, community, and support in a recording.
Absolutely! Faculty from a variety of ranks participate in WellAcademic's writing communities. In fact, 57% of our last SUBMIT cohort were tenured professors.
Nope. I get that you're really busy. That's why almost all work happens in our daily sessions. You'll need just 10 minutes for the post-session reflection exercise. That's it.
Both SUBMIT and Focus Fridays use the same psychology-based session structure that makes writing easier and faster. That said, the goal of SUBMIT is to get you to the finish line on your summer writing goals in two weeks so you can have a leisurely break. It's a sprint.
Since Focus Fridays is a 10-week program in the fall and spring semesters, it's more like a marathon. The goal is to help you create sustainable writing and wellness routines using proven strategies that work if (when?) your semester goes off the rails.
Many of the folks in SUBMIT also participate in Focus Fridays to get year-round writing support.
